Women's Issues Action Team
About UsOur primary areas of focus in 2020-2021 include passage of the Equal Rights Amendment
in North Carolina as well as in the US Senate through SJR6 and affordable, accessible healthcare for North Carolinians, particularly women and children. We are collaborating with multiple organizations through Vote Equality, https://voteequality.us/ to promote candidates that support equality for all Americans and to raise awareness of the need for this amendment to our US Constitution. We hosted an informative Hot Topics on Medicaid Expansion in North Carolina, which can be accessed here: We are preparing to work with multiple organizations to advocate for Medicaid Expansion passage with our new slate of General Assembly members. And we are continuing to raise awareness of LWV’s Centennial and Ratification of the 19 th Amendment through December 2020. The Lower Cape Fear League will be celebrating its centennial in 2021, events are currently in the planning stages. Contact Bridget Tarrant Centennial Exhibit ScheduleLatimer House Exhibit
