Get to know your candidates in the City of Wilmington! The League of Women Voters of the Lower Cape Fear, New Hanover County NAACP, and Cape Fear Housing Coalition are hosting a City of Wilmington Mayoral &Municipal Candidate Forum on Tuesday, Sept. 28th at 6 PM via ZOOM.
Voters participating in The City of Wilmington Municipal Election will decide who will be the Mayor of Wilmington and who will represent them on the Wilmington City Council. Early voting begins Thursday, October 14th and continues until Saturday, October 30th.Election Day is Tuesday, November 2nd. Questions for the candidates will be accepted at [email protected] or [email protected] until 4 PM on September 28th.During the forum, questions will be accepted as time allows. To comply with safety protocols, a maximum of 12 attendees will be allowed seating in the Association Center, in addition to the candidates, the League of Women Voters (LWV), the moderator, BHA Board members and BHA staff. Depending on the weather, the Association Center doors may be opened, with additional seating spaced out safely on the deck. Entry will be first-come, first-seated, and the line for in-person attendance will start at the sign stand at the top of the stairs. All COVID safety protocols must be followed, including wearing a hands-free face mask and social distancing. The LWV of the Lower Cape Fear will manage the forum, and the event will be moderated by Dr. Raymonde Kleinberg, Chair of the Public and International Affairs Department at UNC-Wilmington.
