The League of Women Voters of Lower Cape Fear (LWVLCF) is committed to supporting the continued post-secondary education of young people who are actively engaged in serving their community.
The LWVLCF will honor one graduating student from each of the following county school districts - Brunswick, New Hanover and Pender - with a $1,000 scholarship. The scholarships are designed to provide tuition assistance for high school students graduating Spring 2025 and entering a post-secondary institution. Scholarships will be awarded at the LWVLCF annual meeting in June 2025.
The scholarships are designed to provide tuition assistance to students that are actively engaged in serving their community (school, house of worship, scouts, volunteer work, etc.).
A Qualified Candidate Will…
Applicants will provide two non-family references, at least one from a teacher. In addition, the applicant is required to submit the scholarship application form and video link presenting responses to two questions.

Submissions after this deadline will not be considered. After your application is submitted, it will be reviewed by the LWVLCF Scholarship Committee, and the scholarship recipients will be notified in approximately three weeks following the deadline date. The scholarship will be awarded at the LWVLCF Annual Meeting on Thursday June . 26, 2025.

A Qualified Candidate Will…
- Be a graduating senior at a public high school in the districts of Brunswick, New Hanover or Pender County.
- Be willing to provide proof of commitment to attend a post-secondary institution.
- Provide a complete application and submission of 2 references by April 15, 2025.
