HISTORY
The League of Women Voters of Lower Cape Fear (LWVLCF) is a grassroots, nonpartisan, 501(c)3 nonprofit chapter of the League of Women Voters US. The League of Women Voters was founded in 1920 out of the Women's Suffrage Movement. The League of Women Voters of Lower Cape Fear began in 1962 as a chapter of the LWV and disbanded in 1967. LWVLCF reorganized in 1972 and has been active in the region ever since. We are currently comprised of over 130 men and women members throughout our service counties: Brunswick, New Hanover, and Pender Counties in coastal Carolina.
