This information is made available to our members no less than 30 days from the date of the Annual Meeting, June 25, 2026. A vote will be taken at the meeting and requires a quorum of LWVLCF members to participate in the vote.

Voter Services

- Promote voter registration and voting, especially of underrepresented groups, through community outreach, as permitted by law.
- Partner with civic and nonpartisan organizations for candidate forums.
- Participate with and promote VOTE411, which provides to citizens in English and Spanish access to election information from candidates and state elections offices necessary for informed voting.

- Advocate for local and regional health and social issues as they arise.
- Participate in community outreach to address local social issues.
- Monitor and respond to local and regional social issues as they arise.

- In collaboration with the NHC Resilience Task Force, NC Child's Advocacy Network (CAN) and other community organizations, use our advocacy skills to address mental health and resilience needs in the schools.
- Support teachers and school staff by adopting a school without a PTA (Johnson PreK) for staff appreciation activities.
- Monitor access to and adequate funding of quality Early Childhood Education programs in Brunswick and New Hanover counties. Explore possible solutions to access issues in Brunswick County.
- Monitor school and community organizations in New Hanover County whose goal is to promote equity, diversity and inclusion in schools, and support these efforts where possible.
- Support efforts by the LWVNC Education AT and other state advocacy groups towards funding and implementation of the Comprehensive Remedial Plan (Leandro).
- Monitor and respond to local and state educational issues as they arise.

- Advocate for statewide clean energy.
- Support local environmental justice initiatives.
- Respond to local and state environmental issues as they arise and support partner organizations.

National Popular Vote (NPV)
- Educate and engage voters in the LCF to support North Carolina joining the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact and the United States adopting a constitutional amendment to abolish the Electoral College
- Lobby NC General Assembly members to pass the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact Bill by 2028.
- Educate LWVCF members so that they can educate others on the LWVNC position on statewide citizen-initiated ballot measures in North Carolina.
- Following the 2026 Midterm election, educate North Carolinians on what CBIs are and win the support of voters and legislators for statewide CBI in North Carolina
- Assist LWVNC in developing (1) nonpartisan coalition partners and legislative allies from both major parties and (2) a plan of action for providing voter education and legislative advocacy.
